RON'S WX RAP SEP 18
Flooding and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall are
possible through at least Saturday afternoon!
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
and Flash Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding
should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
TONIGHT
Widespread showers and thunderstorms this evening into Saturday
morning. Heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches and band of 3-5 inches or
more possible. Urban and small stream flooding and/or flash
flooding is possible. A Flood Watch is now in effect for all
southern WI.
SATURDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
A Flood Watch continues for all southern WI into Saturday early
afternoon. Additional rain and stronger storms may be possible
Saturday later afternoon and evening, especially toward the WI/IL
border.
A High Swim Risk continues Saturday with additional periods of
elevated swim risk conditions for Sunday.
Weather Overview
The rain people have been talking about for days now is likely to reach our region late today and with an embedded Tstorms as well! Rainfall amounts will likely reach close to 2 inches, perhaps even more!
Saturday a very wet, gloomy and breezy day, afternoon temps in the upper 60's (my prediction earlier this week when the NWS was talking 70's!)
Expected (not appreciated!) rainfall amounts 3 to 6 inches* between Friday night and Sunday morning!
Sunday a very windy day with still a few more showers possible! Northeast winds possibly gusting to near 30mph should make venturing outside a little challenging! A cool 66°F during all this wind and rain and plenty of clouds!
The start of next week still not looking great, but the shower activity is nearly over! Daytime temps will be well below normal so time to look for a sweater and/or a jacket! Once we make it past this "Fall-like dip" in temps (low 60's at best!) things will slowly get better by the end of the week!
Try to enjoy the weekend, it won't be easy but be happy it's not snowing yet!!
